Vista, California is a city with around 101,659 people. It’s located in the NW side of San Diego. Due to its size, it’s a medium sized city and it has its own sphere of influence in the region, not to mention there’s even a county island located in the Central West here. It’s just a few miles inland from the ocean, and thus it has a Mediterranean climate. It’s one of the reasons why a lot of people come here and the population has managed to rise quite a bit due to that.

Vista is quite old when compared to other cities in the region. It was founded back in 1882 when a post office was created in the region. A little bit later, in 1963, it became incorporated and it became a charter city back in 2007.

The interesting thing about Vista is that it has 25 educational institutions, as well as a business park that hosts more than 800 companies. The city has significant features like affordability and great education that make it a worthwhile place to live in. And it also has one of the top podiatrists in the state in Dr. Berthelsen.

Most of this area was inhabited by the Luiseno Indians. But ever since the end of the 18th century, the city was officially established and they started to grow quite a bit due to that.

Vista has a temperate climate but it does encounter its fair share of abnormalities. You can have foggy overcast and coastal breezes, which are common if you take into consideration the overall location of this place. Rainfall is quite common here, around 20 inches per year or sometimes even a bit more.

As mentioned earlier, there’s a huge focus on education here. Aside from the aforementioned public schools, you have 12 private schools that serve around 2,500 students. Many of these private schools are Christian schools.

If you want to visit Vista, there’s definitely quite a lot to check out here. You have two theaters owned by the city that are widely known for great performances. Aside from that you also have some amazing festivals happening here like the St Patrick’s Day Parade, the Vista Rod Run and the Vista Strawberry festival, among many others. They also have the Brengle Terrace Park and the Guajome County Park which are a pleasure to visit. The Alta Vista Gardens is basically a city owned botanical garden with tons of great plant species.

There’s also the option to check out the Wave Waterpark, a small but fully functional waterpark. And on top of that you can also visit the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum, an amazing Museum that shows antique equipment from the 19th or 20th century.

As you can see, Vista is full of great places to check out and it’s definitely a cool city to visit, but living here is even better. And for the residents of this wonderful city who may need a foot doctor, it’s well worth checking out Dr. Berthelsen’s clinic. Call for an appointment today!
